Week #8 - Lídia
At the beginning of the week, we had a meeting with our artist and writers where we discussed the results of the workshop regarding the several worlds, enemies, bosses and level mechanics that we would integrate in each level/stage of grief. With concepts more set in stone, the artist and writers have a clearer sense of what to develop for the game.
Regarding the dev team, we started developing the game in Unity. Each team member was assigned a task, and this weekend we will bring all of our work together for the prototype we will test with the focus group.
I was assigned the player movement, which means the basic 2D movement with jumping as well as the gravity switching mechanic. I analyzed the code my colleagues made for the previous semester but I did everything from scratch. The jumping and movement is more generalized for each gravity direction so hopefully it will be easier to fine-tune in future iterations. We also changed the controls from the previous prototype, so it will take a lot of testing to find if this was a good decision.
