Week #10 - Daniel
Hey everyone!
This week, my attention was set on the "backend" of our game, focusing mainly on creating an abstraction for levels and collectibles to make the game work as a cohesive experience, and not just a sequence of sequential levels. For this, I paved the way for a save system, so that it could be implemented in the future. This way, we can now store which collectibles have been caught in a specific level and only display the ones yet to be catched. I also created a dynamic ui to only display parts of an image based on the collectibles catched in a specific level.
I was also tasked to adding gamepad support, migrating to Unity's new Input System.
Finally, I created logic for the end of a level, creating an end menu to be displayed when the player reaches the end.
I intend to continue work on menus, save system and more, while also helping my colleagues out on more time sensitive tasks if necessary.
See you next week!
